Terms of use.

The rules for using Kiyume, in plain words. They matter most where sources are concerned, so please read that part.

Last updated October 15, 2026

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Amarildo Preci (“I”, “me”) for the use of the Kiyume app and the website kiyume.app. By using Kiyume you accept them. Kiyume is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; these terms add to it, and where they differ, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.

What Kiyume is

Kiyume is a reader. It doesn’t include, host or provide manga or other content. What you read comes from files you own, a server you run, or sources published by third parties that you choose to install.

Your responsibilities

You agree to use Kiyume lawfully, and in particular:

  • to read only content you’re entitled to access, and to respect the copyright and other rights of the people who create it;
  • to install and use only sources you’re allowed to use under the law where you live and the terms of the sites they read;
  • not to use Kiyume to copy, redistribute or make available content you don’t have the rights to;
  • not to interfere with Kiyume, the services it connects to, or other people’s use of them;
  • to turn on explicit content only if you’re of legal age where you live.

Third-party sources, repositories and services

Sources and repositories are created and published by third parties. I don’t publish, review, endorse or control them, or the websites they read, and I’m not responsible for their availability, accuracy, legality or content. The same applies to services you choose to connect, such as AniList, MyAnimeList and iCloud, which have their own terms.

Kiyume limits what sources can technically do, as described on the sources page, but these limits don’t make a source lawful or suitable. Your use of any third-party source or service is at your own discretion and risk. If you believe a source infringes your rights, see copyright and reports.

Your licence

I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Kiyume on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s usage rules. You may not reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly permits it.

Name and trademarks

Kiyume, its icons and its visual design belong to me. Nothing in these terms gives you the right to use them, other than to refer to Kiyume accurately.

Apple, the Apple logo, iPhone, iPad and TestFlight are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. App Store is a service mark of Apple Inc. Other names and logos, such as AniList and MyAnimeList, belong to their owners and are used only to refer to their services.

Warranties

Kiyume is provided “as is” and “as available”. Beta versions distributed through TestFlight are pre-release software: they may be incomplete, change or stop working, and are covered by Apple’s TestFlight terms as well as these ones. To the extent the law allows, I make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with any particular source, service or file. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data, or for anything caused by third-party sources, repositories, websites or services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t be excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending use

You can stop using Kiyume at any time by deleting it. I may change, suspend or discontinue Kiyume, or parts of it. Sections about responsibilities, third-party content, warranties and liability continue to apply afterwards.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in its courts.

Changes and contact

I may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. For significant changes, I’ll let you know in the app before they take effect. Questions? Write to support@kiyume.app.
